The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government on Oct.11 published a work report on Chief Executive Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor's first 100 days in office.

The report said the SAR government would actively seek to sign free trade agreements, investment promotion and protection agreements and agreements on avoidance of double taxation with various countries, including those along the Belt and Road routes.

The underlying purpose is to explore markets covered by the Belt and Road Initiative and those beyond, and further consolidate Hong Kong's role as a center of international trade, business and finance.

The report said the SAR government was negotiating with the central government on a comprehensive agreement for Hong Kong's participation into the Belt and Road construction.
